ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Laura Glerum, and my yoga journey began more than 20 years ago. I owe immense gratitude to Viki Distin, the founder of Cascade Yoga Studio, who was not only my first yoga teacher but also my mentor and guide. With her guidance, I found my true self and gained confidence as a young teacher. In 2003, I completed my first 200-hour Registered Yoga Training with Ana Forrest, which taught me the value of resilience, letting go, and discovering hidden strengths. It was a transformative experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone and spurred both physical and mental growth. Two retreats with Sarah Powers in 2004 and 2006 introduced me to the power of silence and stillness, helping me find acceptance and profound inner peace. Throughout the following 15 years, I continued my practice and training with influential teachers such as Rod Stryker, Brenna Geehan, and Tricia Fiske in the lineage of Tantra yoga. These experiences deepened my understanding of the interconnectedness of all things and how various yoga techniques can lead to self-awakening, compassion, and spiritual prosperity. Each teacher has played a pivotal role in guiding me toward becoming a better version of myself, and my yoga journey remains a lifelong learning experience that I cherish deeply.

Guiding others through the practice of yoga is not just a personal passion for me; it's my way of sharing wellness and balance with those on this life's journey with me. It's a deeply ingrained family value that resonates with how we approach life. As a mom of two energetic boys, I put my yoga practice into action daily, striving to find harmony amidst our camping escapades, holding insects, harvesting tomatoes and beets from our garden, and enjoying spirited games of pickleball. The busyness of being a mom, wife, friend, taxi driver, and yoga instructor serves as a continual, real-world reminder that busy moments can be mindful moments.

I love our busy, imperfect life and I'm happy to share the journey with my family and you.

Whether I’m in the clinic, teaching group classes, or practicing on my mat, the goal is the same. To develop a deeper connection to our body, mind, and spirit.
